Once a site is up and running many
feel the work is done, not so. Just as you have to "Grow A Business"
you have to "Grow A Website". It takes work to make a site fulfill your
explications. The site will need updating, either
text or pictures or both. You will want to try new ideas, new pages
will suddenly present themselves and demand to be built, all kinds of
growth take place on a web site. Links, banners and new graphics will
need to be put up. It's called site development, and most sites go
through a lot of it. Basic Web Sites charges $25.00 per hour to do the on site development work.
Site popularity will be an important element in search
engine ranking. To determine the popularity of a site, the number of
links from other related sites will be used. It is the site owner who
will have to establish these links by visiting other related sites and
making "arrangements" for the links. We puts the links on your
site.
Although we don't charge for it, we
do submit clients sites to free search engines and directories.
(between 600 and 700 search engines and directories)
We use a good bulk submitting program which is adequate to get
started. At the same time we encourage site owners to spend some time
themselves submitting their sites to directories like YahooŽ and
GoogleŽ which
now charge over $200.00 per submission.
